Bingaman and Son Lumber is searching for an Export Salesperson.

As an overview; this export salesperson will work with our Export Sales staff to sell all of our products to specific markets overseas. These products include logs, kiln dried lumber, strips and glued products in a variety of North American species, grades, and thicknesses. This job needs a readiness to travel and eagerness to observe/check the quality of our shipments at our customer’s facility. This job is done best when the person projects an objective, professional, and flexible attitude in every situation. Successful candidate will meet minimum job requirements and will adhere to the Bingaman & Son Lumber, Inc. Vision Statement, Leadership Competencies and Core Values.

The ideal candidate would have all of the following skills and experience:

  • A willingness and ability to sell hardwood products overseas along with the knowledge and experience of hardwood lumber grading rules, and hardwood characteristics (for example, having the ability to identify individual species, etc.)
  • An ability to work with the necessary technology for overseas communication.
  • The ideal candidate would have a sales back ground, and a college degree in international business/marketing.
  • They would have knowledge of at least one foreign language, and a genuine interest and acceptance of different cultures.
  • This person will be able to drive, climb, walk, lift, bend, and twist (with a 30 pound board) in order to handle forestry requirements and mill opportunities. They should be willing and able to spend time in other company facilities and willing to develop working relationships with Bingaman production teams, customers and others throughout the hardwood industry.
  • They will have the ability to use commercial airlines for travel, though most of their work time will be in an office setting. (Overseas travel is required with an estimate of 5 to 6 trips a year with each trip being 7 to 12 days).
  • They will have good listening, communication, and writing skills.
  • They will have a good work ethic, being a team player, self-starter and hard worker.
